You know, I love DailyKos kind of the way I love fandom. A lot less than I love fandom, admittedly, but in a similar way. I visit the website several times a day because it's a good way to hear from a lot of different people who I have a little bit in common with. I read almost all of the comments of the diaries I read, which is part of the reason why I don't post there more often.
The other part of the reason is that sometimes Dkos is fricking crazy. Here are the headlines on the reclist atm:

As you can tell, the most alarmed and hysterical headlines quickly make it to the reclist. My favorite is catastrophe looms. Can't you just hear the ominous music in the background? Unfortunately, the recced diaries mocking comments from FreeRepublic has already slipped off -- I always love it when we indulge in a little hypocrisy and judge Republicans in the exact same way we scream about them doing to us (namely, cherry-picking comments, removing them from context, mocking them, and judging the whole group by the bad behavior of a few).
I don't want to pay into the meme that Democrats as a whole are as hateful as Republicans, because after all, they have Rush and Glenn and are proud of them. Even the worst conspiracy theorists and hateful rhetoricians of the left would have to hustle to keep up with those guys.
But seriously, sometimes, this site. *hands*
